Turn a video into a Notion page

1. Connect your Notion workspace

You do this once. The whole handshake runs on Notion's own authorization screen, so we never see your Notion password and you decide exactly which pages the connection can reach.

1. Sign in to SummarizeVideoToText. A free account is enough — connecting Notion costs nothing.
2. Click Connect Notion at the top of this page, or open any video and choose Export → Connect Notion.
3. Notion asks which pages to share. Pick one page to act as the parent — every page we create lands underneath it.
4. Notion hands you back to where you started, and the export carries on by itself.

Shared nothing by accident? Open the page you want in Notion, click ··· in the top right, choose Connections, and add SummarizeVideoToText. Then run the export again.

2. Send a video into Notion

Nothing to configure. The export takes whatever is already on screen — including the parts you generated yourself.

1. Paste a video link on the homepage. The TL;DR, key insights, chapters and transcript appear within a few seconds.
2. Optional: ask questions in the Q&A tab. Everything you asked travels with the export, in every language you asked it in.
3. Open the Export menu and choose Export to Notion. One export creates one new page.

As soon as the page is written you get a link straight to it, and the name of the parent page it landed under — so you never have to go hunting for it in your sidebar.

3. What the Notion page looks like

It is an ordinary Notion page made of ordinary Notion blocks. You can edit it, move it, link to it and mention it exactly like anything else in your workspace.

Cover and icon

The video thumbnail becomes the page cover, with 🎬 as the page icon, so it is recognisable at a glance in a list.

The video itself

A YouTube link becomes an embedded player you can watch without leaving Notion. TikTok, Instagram and X links become a bookmark card instead, because Notion cannot play those inline.

Table of contents

A real Notion table-of-contents block, so a two-hour talk stays navigable.

TL;DR

The one-paragraph version, in a 💡 callout at the very top.

Key insights

A numbered list: the point itself in bold, the explanation underneath it.

Chapters

One heading per chapter with its start and end time, then bullets. Every timestamp is a link back to that exact second of the original video.

Questions you asked

Each question becomes a toggle with its answer folded inside, so a long conversation does not swamp the page.

Full transcript

Last, and collapsed by default — several hundred lines would otherwise bury everything above it. Each line keeps its own timestamp link.

The order is deliberate: what you actually want to read sits at the top, and the raw material sits at the bottom where you can still reach it.

4. What the connection can and cannot do

Worth reading before you authorize anything, here or anywhere else.

How it authorizes

Through Notion's own OAuth flow. We never ask for your Notion password, and Notion's screen spells out what you are granting before you agree.

What it can reach

Only the pages you explicitly shared during authorization, plus the pages it creates itself. The rest of your workspace stays invisible to it.

What it asks for

Read content, update content, insert content, and read user information — the last one is only so the app can tell you which workspace you connected.

What we store

The access token, encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM; your workspace name and icon; and the parent page you picked. The contents of your Notion pages are never copied to our servers.

Turning it off

Revoke it from Notion whenever you like: Settings → Connections, find SummarizeVideoToText, remove it. The token stops working immediately.

5. Good to know

One export, one new page

We never overwrite anything you already have. Export the same video twice and you get two pages — which is what you want after re-running the summary with a different template.

Long videos take a moment

A transcript of several hundred lines is written in batches, because Notion accepts a limited number of blocks per request. The button tells you it is still working.

Where pages land

If you shared several pages during authorization, the first one becomes the destination and is remembered for next time.

Nothing shared, nothing exported

If no page is shared with the connection, the export stops and says so, instead of quietly writing into nowhere.
