Mega Man: Dual Override
Two playable heroes, and a system that breaks a robot's limiter
- 2:15Proto Man, Mega Man's brother, returns as a second playable hero after a long absence, with his own gameplay and combat style.
- 2:29The "Dual" in the title refers to the game's two playable heroes.
- 2:41Mega Man stays balanced at close quarters and long range; Proto Man deals more damage and focuses on close-range attacks.
- 3:09Stages are restructured: previous Mega Man games had eight main levels each ending in a boss fight, this one gives every stage three areas for more gradual progression.
- 3:31Custom Chips can be equipped on either hero to activate abilities such as the Rapid Buster and Barrier.
- 3:53There are over 50 chips in total, split between ones you trigger yourself and ones with passive effects.
- 4:25Proto Man gets stronger differently from Mega Man: instead of Special Weapons he gains new abilities and shield-based actions.
- 4:49Twinkle Girl was the team's first Robot Master and a favourite in the studio — both developers admit she beat them repeatedly in playtests.
- 5:29Override is introduced as a new system that powers a character up for a limited time and visibly changes their appearance.
- 6:19Demo stations for Dual Override will be at the Capcom booth at Tokyo Game Show.
